ABSTRACT
The restricted mean survival time (RMST) examines the entire Kaplan-Meier curve and expresses the survival outcomes using time as unit of measurement. RMST can appreciate the presence of a long-term survival plateau. The Juliet trial observed a durable response rates in patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma treated with tisagenlecleucel. We assessed the RMST from the progression-free survival (PFS) curve of the patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, enrolled in the phase-2 one-arm JULIET trial. The value of RMST was 7.74 months. Considering the median PFS value of 3 months, the ratio RMST/median is 2.58. The presence of a plateau was not appreciated by the median of PFS curve in JULIET trial. Our analysis provides a numerical estimate of the presence of long-term survival patients.
